University of Southern Denmark (SDU) is the 3rd largest university in Denmark with >30.000 students. The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) provides a highly dynamic environment for teaching, training & research in molecular biology & biomedicine. The department has an outstanding research infrastructure and facilities for molecular biology, genomics, proteomics, and microscopy research in cell biology, microbiology, and biomedicine. Approx. 50 Ph.D. students are enrolled in the department. Assoc. Prof V. Schwämmle directs the “Computational Proteomics Unit” and is one of the Head Lecturers of the Master’s level study program “Computational Biomedicine”.
